To us, Salt is so much more than an ingredient that adds flavor or preserves food.



To paraphrase food writer Mark Kurlansky, salt is the only rock we eat that has shaped civilization and made a glittering, often surprise contribution of the history of humankind. It has served as currency, influenced the establishment of trade routes and cities, provoked wars, secured empires and inspired revolutions. It is also an essential part of the human body.


In the same way that salt is so much more than a household item, we set out to create a dining experience that was so much more than a place to eat. We believe that the sharing of small plates facilitates a more meaningful experience where you can savor memorable moments together with everyone at your table. The seasonal menu is designed to offer you more than just food on a plate. Each dish is a thoughtful composition of textures, colors and globally-inspired flavors that pair well with the unique wines and inventive cocktails crafted in house.


Although the plus sign in our name is silent, we hope the experience you have at Salt+ speaks volumes about what is possible when we share something together and strive to be more.


Jill has been speaking at multiple culinary summits, across the country. Jessica has been with local and national sommeliers over wine events. The two have been on tv, radio, and in papers (almost monthly) since opening Salt+.


Together with other local chefs, they help run and hold CLE Family Meal. “Family meal” is celebrated throughout the restaurant industry before every dinner service. Cleveland Family Meal was born to provide provisions and prosperity to industry and hospitality families in a time of need.

Being the daughter of a chef, meant time spent with dad was time in the kitchen. As time passed, and completing the first Culinary Program at Lakewood High School, she decided that front of the house was where she wanted to be. Working her way through some of the finest dining restaurants in Cleveland, she found management was her best attribute. A 10 day trip to Napa, California opened her up to an amazing world of wine and she continues to build relationships with wineries and winemakers, still. Jessica enjoys all aspects of the restaurant industry and is passionate about educating anyone that will listen when it comes to wine, spirits, and overall a well thought out dining experience.

Two time James Beard nominee, Executive Chef/Co-Owner Jill Vedaa, is no stranger to a kitchen. With over 20 years in the business, this art student uses her plate as her canvas and it shows. She was trained under some of the best chefs in Cleveland, and continues her culinary education through travel. Her experience in culinary diversity is what brought the concept of Salt+ into light. Bringing an ever changing menu and culinary experience to every guest that enters the door. Jill is thoroughly familiar is a wide variety of culinary cuisine. Her passion shows in each and every dish she creates!
